redirect the energy
It's important to redirect energy right in the moment of intensity. When there’s an occurrence which may come in a variety of forms, such as a conversation, a memory, an injustice, a crime, or a world event, emotional intensity may arise. The intensity may shake you and might be perceived as an emotional set back. When the intensity shows up, we should acknowledge it. It’s not helpful to ignore it. So go ahead and acknowledge it. Feel what you feel. Notice how you feel. Witness yourself. Then nourish and nurture yourself. After acknowledging the emotional intensity, go into problem-solving mode. Don’t skip feeling into the situation. Feelings must be acknowledged. However, after acknowledging feelings, move forward with intention and redirection. This can neutralize the energetic experience so that any energy present is useful as opposed to chaotic or dysregulating.
