mindfulness and breath
Staying in the present moment activates mindfulness. Mindfulness is a process of observation of the self…right here and right now. Mindfulness stays focused on the present, rather than ruminating on the past. Mindfulness doesn’t worry about the future. It knows there is power and purpose in the present moment.
“An operational working definition of mindfulness is the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally to the unfolding of experience moment by moment.” – Jon Kabat-Zinn (2003)
Mindfulness exercises include meditation and breath work. Practicing mindfulness meditations with breath increase self-regulation, calm the nervous system, and relax the body.
Inhale, Exhale. Calm the body. Relax the mind. Enjoy the breath as the nervous system soothes itself with your healing breath
